Today let's talk about big news from Britain: it's changing Prime Ministers again.
The new Prime Minister is named Burnham, and he's in his fifties.
Speaking of Burnham, he has a famous nickname: "King of the North."
Where did this nickname come from?
Burnham is from the north of England.
In Britain, the wealthy and powerful are mostly in London, in the south.
Many northern cities, by contrast, get far less attention.
But Burnham has always spoken up for ordinary people in the north.
A few years ago, during the pandemic, the central government wanted to lock down the city he ran.
But the money the government offered wasn't enough.
So Burnham stepped up and publicly argued with the central government.
Because of that, people remembered him and started calling him "King of the North."
Actually, Burnham had wanted to be Prime Minister for a long time.
But he'd tried twice, and both times he failed.
After that, he went and became the Mayor of Manchester.
And he stayed in that job for several years.
As mayor he did quite well, and his reputation kept growing.
Recently, Britain's Prime Minister, Starmer, suddenly said he was quitting.
With that, the Labour Party had to choose a new leader.
In Britain, Labour is a major party, and its leader usually becomes Prime Minister.
This time, nearly all of Labour's MPs backed Burnham.
More than three hundred MPs stood on his side.
So with no rival, he became Labour's leader outright.
In a few more days, he'll officially become Britain's Prime Minister.
Still, getting this far wasn't easy for Burnham.
He waited more than twenty years for this chance.
Honestly, Britain has been in real turmoil these past years.
In about ten years, it's gone through seven Prime Ministers.
One after another, none of them lasted long.
Now, it's finally the "King of the North's" turn.
