世界人工智能大会落幕:AI 从"比模型",走向"拼落地"
The World AI Conference Wraps Up: AI Shifts From 'Best Model' to 'Real-World Use'
This is an HSK 3-4 Chinese listening episode that runs about 4 minutes. The full Mandarin script is shown with tap-for-pinyin and a line-by-line English translation, so you can listen and read at once — comprehensible input in the sense of Stephen Krashen's i+1 theory. It teaches 8 key vocabulary words such as 国家、世界、重要 and walks through 2 grammar patterns, each explained in English with examples. The same news story is retold at 4 difficulty levels — use the level selector above to find the version that is challenging but still understandable for you.
今天聊一件科技圈的大事:世界人工智能大会,刚刚在上海开完。
Today let's talk about a big deal in the tech world: the World AI Conference just wrapped up in Shanghai.
这个大会,简称 WAIC,是全球规模最大的 AI 大会之一。
This conference, known as WAIC for short, is one of the largest AI conferences in the world.
今年这一届,办得格外热闹,很多数字都创了新高。
This year's edition was especially lively, with many figures hitting new highs.
先给你几个数字,感受一下这个规模。
Let me give you a few numbers to get a sense of the scale.
今年,来自各国的重要嘉宾,超过了一千四百位。
This year, more than 1,400 important guests came from countries around the world.
参展的公司,有一千一百多家。
Over 1,100 companies exhibited.
光是现场展出的新东西,就超过了三千件。
The new products on display alone numbered more than 3,000.
其中,有一百多款芯片,还有两百多个大模型。
Among them were over 100 chips and more than 200 large AI models.
不过,今年最抢眼的,还是各种各样的机器人。
But the biggest eye-catchers this year were all kinds of robots.
大会上,摆出了两百多个"会动"的机器人。
The conference featured over 200 robots that could actually move.
它们长得越来越像人,能走路、能对话,还能干活。
They look more and more like humans — they can walk, hold conversations, and even do work.
这些机器人,不再只是站在那里给大家看的样品。
These robots are no longer just samples standing there for people to look at.
很多都是真的可以派上用场的:在酒店、商场、展厅里,帮客人带路、拿东西、回答问题。
Many can actually be put to use — guiding guests, carrying things, and answering questions in hotels, malls, and showrooms.
其实,这背后藏着今年大会最大的一个变化。
In fact, behind this lies the biggest change at this year's conference.
过去几年,大家比的是:谁家的大模型更聪明、更厉害。
In past years, everyone competed over whose large model was smarter and more powerful.
而今年,风向变了。
But this year, the wind has shifted.
大家更关心的是:AI 到底能不能真正用起来,能不能帮企业赚到钱、帮普通人过得更好。
People now care more about whether AI can actually be put to use — whether it can help companies make money and help ordinary people live better.
说白了,就是从"比谁的模型强",变成了"比谁能真正落地"。
Put plainly, it's shifted from "whose model is strongest" to "who can actually put it into practice."
举几个例子,现场就有能自己开的汽车,有能帮医生看片子的系统,还有能在工厂里干活的机械臂。
For example, there were self-driving cars, systems that help doctors read scans, and robotic arms that work on factory floors.
这些东西,很多都不是概念,而是已经能用、甚至已经在用的了。
Many of these are no longer just concepts — they already work, and some are already in use.
除了技术,这次大会,在另一个层面上,也很受关注。
Beyond technology, this conference also drew attention on another level.
中国的领导人习近平,在开幕式上发表了讲话。
China's leader, Xi Jinping, gave a speech at the opening ceremony.
他把 AI,说成是这个时代一个难得的机会。
He described AI as a rare opportunity of our era.
他呼吁世界各国,抓住这个机会,一起合作,而不是各干各的。
He called on all nations to seize this opportunity and cooperate, rather than each going its own way.
他还特别强调了"开源"。
He also placed special emphasis on "open source."
所谓开源,就是把技术公开出来,让全世界都能免费使用、一起改进。
"Open source" means making the technology public, so the whole world can use it for free and improve it together.
他表示,中国愿意帮助那些还比较落后的发展中国家,让它们也用得上 AI,不要在这一轮技术浪潮里掉队。
He said China is willing to help less-developed developing countries gain access to AI, so they don't fall behind in this wave of technology.
可以看出,中国是想在 AI 这件事上,扮演一个"带头人"的角色。
Clearly, China wants to play the role of a "leader" when it comes to AI.
而这,也难免让人联想到中美之间,在 AI 上的较量。
And this inevitably brings to mind the contest between China and the US over AI.
这几年,中国和美国,一直在 AI 领域你追我赶。
In recent years, China and the US have been in a neck-and-neck race in the AI field.
除了习近平,这次来的重量级人物还有不少,比如联合国的秘书长,也到了现场。
Besides Xi Jinping, many other heavyweight figures attended — the UN Secretary-General, for one, was also there.
这也说明,AI 早就不只是一项技术。
This shows that AI has long since become more than just a technology.
它关系到经济、关系到国家之间的竞争,甚至关系到未来的世界格局。
It touches on the economy, on competition between nations, and even on the future shape of the world.
对我们普通人来说,最直接的感受可能是:以后,AI 会像水和电一样,悄悄地融进我们生活的方方面面。
For us ordinary people, the most immediate feeling may be this: in the future, AI will quietly seep into every corner of our lives, like water and electricity.
好,一场大会,让我们看清了两件事。
So, one conference made two things clear.
一是 AI 正在飞快地,走进我们每个人的生活。
First, AI is rapidly entering all of our lives.
二是围绕 AI 的这场竞争,才刚刚开始。
Second, the competition surrounding AI has only just begun.
今天就聊到这儿,我们下次再见。
That's it for today — see you next time.
AI 变成了很多国家都很关心的大事 — AI has become a big deal many countries care about.
世界人工智能大会 — the World Artificial Intelligence Conference.
还有一件很重要的事 — there is one more very important thing.
谁家的大模型更聪明 — whose large model is smarter.
Beyond HSK 1-3. 中美之间在 AI 上的较量 — the competition between China and the US over AI.
大家更关心的是 AI 能不能真正用起来 — people care more about whether AI can really be used.
Beyond HSK 1-3. 一百多款芯片 — over 100 chips on display.
Beyond HSK 1-3. Making core technology public and free for the world to use and improve.
* beyond level超纲词
从 A,变成了 B
"Shifted from A to B" — describes a change of state or focus.
从"比谁的模型强",变成了"比谁能真正落地"。
不再只是...
"No longer merely..." — signals that something has moved past its old role.
这些机器人,不再只是站在那里给大家看的样品。
