Today let's talk about a World Cup match.
This match was Colombia against Congo.
The Congo here means the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in Africa.
First, the result: Colombia won, one-nil.
One-nil means it was a tense match, hard to call.
Let's first talk about these two teams.
Colombia comes from South America, a strong and famous team.
Their players have good technique and pace, always a team that troubles opponents.
Congo comes from Africa, behind Colombia in fame and strength.
But Congo's players are physically strong and play tenaciously, not easy to deal with.
This match was important for Colombia: a win would qualify them early for the knockout stage.
So Colombia really wanted to take this match, the whole team going all out.
From the start, both teams played very carefully.
Colombia had the upper hand, but Congo defended very well.
The whole Congo team dropped back to protect their goal together.
So at first, Colombia found it hard to score too.
And so, the match went on a long time with neither able to score.
At the end of the first half, the score was still nil-nil.
The watchers were all nervous, because one goal could decide it.
In the second half, Colombia kept stepping up their attack.
They charged at Congo's goal again and again, looking for a chance to score.
Crosses, shots, corners — Colombia tried everything.
But Congo's defence stayed tenacious, leaving Colombia anxious.
Finally, in the second half, Colombia got a chance.
Their player Muñoz seized the chance and put the ball into Congo's goal.
One-nil, Colombia took the lead.
That goal was crucial, because both teams had few chances.
After that goal, Colombia began to defend solidly.
As an experienced team, they knew how to play once ahead.
They wanted to hold the one-goal lead and claim the precious three points.
The fans in the stands grew more and more nervous, hoping the team could hold on to the end.
The trailing Congo were of course unwilling to accept it, and began attacking with everything.
They pushed forward again and again, trying to equalise.
But Colombia defended steadily, not giving Congo many chances.
Minute by minute the time passed, and Congo still couldn't score.
In the end, the match finished one-nil, Colombia the winners.
For Colombia, this was a very important victory.
Because by winning this match, Colombia advanced early to the knockout stage.
"The knockout stage" is where one loss sends you home — more important than the group stage.
Qualifying early, the whole Colombia team was delighted.
But for Congo, it was a slightly regretful result.
They actually played well and defended tenaciously, they just couldn't take a chance to score.
For an African team, to play so close against a strong side like Colombia is also no easy thing.
And they too fought to the very end without giving up, deserving respect.
After the match, many people talked about it.
Some said Colombia are strong: they can score at the crucial moment and hold the lead.
Others felt for Congo, that they defended tenaciously and lost a little unwillingly.
Actually, this is football.
Sometimes, one goal can decide a whole match.
So every chance matters enormously.
Okay, that's the match between Colombia and Congo.
Colombia edged Congo one-nil and advanced early to the knockout stage.
And Congo, though tenacious, couldn't get any points in the end.
Muñoz's goal was the most crucial of the day.
