English transcript reference

Denmark has a prime minister. She is fifty years old.

This week, she went to Ukraine.

Things in Ukraine are very bad.

While she was in Ukraine, she heard a very loud sound.

When the sound comes, everybody has to go down.

Up above is not safe. Down below is.

She was there a few days, and heard that sound several times.

Then she went back to Denmark.

She got home and looked at her phone.

On the phone, someone had written to her.

The person who wrote was a doctor.

The doctor wrote: on your nose, there is a little something.

The doctor wrote: I can fix it for you.

She read it, and inside she was very angry.

In Ukraine, it was that loud sound.

At home, it was this sentence.

She said: I have been reading messages like this for many years.

Some people say her teeth are not nice.

Some people say her hair is too thin.

Some people say her nose is not nice.

Some people say: go and get it done, you will look better.

Messages like this — far, far too many.

This time, she spoke.

She said: I am fifty years old.

She said: I am fifty, and this is how I am.

She said: my body — I like it very much.

She said: my body — I decide.

My body is fine.

And she did one more thing, which I like very much.

She showed everyone what the doctor had written.

But she did not say the doctor’s name.

She did not say what he was called.

She said what she wanted to say.

But she did not do this to him.

Think about it:

If someone says your body is not nice, will you speak?
