In the British royal family, William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, are just about the most closely watched couple of all.
On July 28th, they posted a "summer rewind" on social media, using a set of photos and videos to string the whole summer together.
In the frames: the family at Wimbledon, the children's laughter, and photos with famous faces from every field, warm and easy.
In the caption they wrote: thank you to everyone who made these past few months so special.
But what truly moved countless people was still Kate's past year and more.
About eighteen months ago, she revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer, stepped out of the public eye for a while, and underwent treatment.
Now, healthy again, she has done something almost beyond what ordinary people would imagine.
In twenty-four hours, she summited the highest peaks of England, Scotland, and Wales in one go, completing the famous Three Peaks Challenge.
And all of it was to raise money for a cancer hospital, to help those still walking the long road of treatment.
Someone who had just walked back from the edge of life and death, turning around to go to bat for fellow patients, is a resilience that moves people more than any title.
In many eyes, the meaning of royalty may lie exactly in moments like this: they too can be fragile, they too can fall ill, and yet they still choose to stand up and give others strength.
Now, after a busy summer, the family is finally going to stop and take a good rest.
