Today we're talking about a big World Cup upset.

What's an upset?

It's when the team everyone thought would win ends up losing.

Today's main characters are Germany and Ecuador.

Germany is one of the most famous strong teams in the world.

Ecuador comes from South America, not as famous.

Before the match, almost everyone thought Germany would surely win.

But the final score was Ecuador two to one, beating Germany.

When the match began, the plot seemed to follow what everyone expected.

Only two minutes in, Germany's Sané scored.

One to zero, Germany ahead.

Conceding so fast, people thought Ecuador would panic.

For Germany, this start seemed perfect.

Sané is a famous German player, and his goal was fast and beautiful.

But Ecuador wasn't afraid at all.

They struck back quickly.

In the ninth minute, Ecuador's Angulo scored.

One to one, the two teams back on the same line.

See — less than ten minutes in, there were already two goals, very lively.

Later in the first half, both teams fought hard but didn't score again.

The score stayed one to one.

In the second half, the game entered its most crucial stage.

At the seventy-seventh minute, Ecuador's Plata scored again.

Two to one, Ecuador took the lead!

With that, the Ecuador fans in the stands went wild.

A team no one favored had actually gone ahead of Germany.

After falling behind, Germany started to get anxious.

They pushed men forward, trying to pull the score back.

Germany shot many times and had some chances.

But Ecuador defended steadily, and their keeper was excellent.

Right to the end, Germany couldn't score again.

The whistle blew, the score fixed at two to one, Ecuador won.

This game was no small upset.

For Germany, losing to Ecuador is indeed a bit embarrassing.

But interestingly, Germany wasn't actually eliminated.

They won their first two games, had enough points, so they still finished first and advanced.

In other words, Germany lost today but can still keep playing.

For Ecuador, this win means a great deal.

Beating a strong team like Germany proves their quality.

More importantly, thanks to this game, Ecuador also earned a place in the next round.

So for them, this day will be remembered for a long time.

Actually, this isn't the first time Germany has lost to such an opponent.

A few years ago at the World Cup, they also lost to Japan — another big upset.

So this game is a reminder for Germany: don't be careless, take every opponent seriously.

Next comes the knockout stage, where one loss sends you home, so Germany must get sharp.

For Ecuador, this is a young and fearless team.

Angulo and Plata are players with real drive, much tipped for the future.

This win will give the whole team more confidence.

This game teaches us a lesson: on the soccer pitch, no one is guaranteed to win.

Being famous and strong doesn't mean winning every game.

A small team that dares to fight and won't give up can create miracles too.

That's the most enchanting thing about soccer, and the story of Ecuador two to one Germany.
