最近，海上有一艘很特别的船。Recently, there's a very special ship at sea.
这艘船的名字叫"洪迪斯号"。This ship is called "MV Hondius."
是一艘荷兰的邮轮。It's a Dutch cruise ship.
邮轮就是很大很大的船，专门让人去玩、去看风景。A cruise ship is a very, very big ship, made for people to play on and to see scenery.
洪迪斯号，今年四月一号，从一个叫乌斯怀亚的城市出发。MV Hondius, on April 1 this year, set off from a city called Ushuaia.
乌斯怀亚在南美洲的最南边，是阿根廷的一个港口。Ushuaia is at the southern tip of South America, a port city in Argentina.
船的目的地，是南极。The ship's destination was Antarctica.
就是世界上最冷、最远的地方，有冰，有雪，有企鹅。The coldest, most remote place in the world — with ice, snow, and penguins.
能去南极，是很多人一辈子的愿望。Going to Antarctica is a lifelong wish for many people.
所以这艘船上有一百四十七个人。So this ship had 147 people on it.
有的人是游客。Some were tourists.
有的人是船员。Some were crew members.
他们来自二十三个国家。They came from 23 countries.
有荷兰人，德国人，英国人，美国人，还有很多别的国家的人。There were Dutch, German, British, American, and people from many other countries.
但是不久以后，事情出问题了。But not long after, things went wrong.
四月六号，船上有一个游客开始不舒服。On April 6, one passenger on the ship began feeling unwell.
医生看了他。The doctor examined him.
但是不知道是什么病。But couldn't tell what disease.
四月十一号，这个游客死了。On April 11, this passenger died.
当时，大家都以为是普通的病。At the time, everyone assumed it was an ordinary illness.
但是没多久，他的妻子也开始不舒服。But not long after, his wife also began feeling unwell.
四月二十六号，这位妻子也死了。On April 26, this wife also died.
她是在飞机上死的。She died on a plane.
当时她已经下了船，正要回家。She had already disembarked and was on her way home.
她在飞机上只坐了四十五分钟，就死了。She was on the plane for only 45 minutes when she died.

什么是汉坦病毒呢？What is hantavirus?

但是这次，不一样。But this time, it's different.
医生发现：船上的这个病毒，是一种特别的"安第斯型"。Doctors discovered: the virus on the ship is a special "Andes type."
安第斯，是南美洲的一个山。The Andes is a mountain range in South America.
这种病毒，是世界上唯一会人传人的汉坦病毒。This virus is the only hantavirus in the world that can spread person to person.
也就是说，一个人得了，身边的人，也可能被传上。That is to say, if one person catches it, the people around them might also catch it.
所以船上的人，一下子都很危险。So suddenly, everyone on the ship was in danger.

其他的人，还在船上。The others are still on the ship.
然后，船开始向另一个地方走。Then, the ship began heading to another place.
那个地方叫加那利群岛，是西班牙的。That place is the Canary Islands, which belong to Spain.
