Today we're going to talk about a World Cup match.
This match is Scotland versus Morocco.
Let's give the result first: Morocco won, one to zero.
Morocco comes from Africa and is a very strong team.
These past years, Morocco has played extremely well at the World Cup.
Their players are fast and combine well; they're a headache to face.
Scotland comes from Europe and is also a capable team.
Scotland's players have real fighting spirit and never give up easily.
The strength of these two teams is actually about the same.
So before the match, no one could say for sure who would win.
This match was played in the U.S., with many fans in attendance.
Both teams' fans cheered loudly for their side.
Unexpectedly, right as the match began, a goal appeared.
Just over a minute in, Morocco scored first.
It was a very quick attack; the ball was suddenly played to the goalmouth.
The scorer was Morocco's player Saibari.
One to zero — Morocco led very, very early.
This goal came really too fast.
Many fans had just sat down when the ball already went in.
For Morocco, this was a very good start.
And for Scotland, this opening was terrible.
Just over a minute in, they were already down by a goal.
After scoring this goal, Morocco began to defend seriously.
They dropped everyone back, guarding the goal together.
Their idea was simple: hold on to this goal, and they could win.
Morocco is very good at this kind of match — score first, then hold on.
These past years, it's exactly this style that's taken them far at the World Cup.
Scotland of course didn't want to lose, so they began to push forward.
They attacked again and again, trying to pull the score back.
But Morocco defended very tenaciously.
No matter how Scotland played, they couldn't break Morocco's goal.
At the end of the first half, the score was still one to zero.
In the second half, Scotland played even harder.
They made substitutions and stepped up their attack.
Every one of Scotland's players ran his heart out.
They created a few chances too, coming close to scoring.
A couple of times the ball nearly went in, and the fans in the stands stood up.
Unfortunately, the ball still didn't go in.
Morocco's defense was too good, and the goalkeeper was key too.
The minutes ticked by, and Scotland still couldn't score.
In the end, the match finished one to zero.
Relying on that opening goal, Morocco won the whole match.
For Morocco, this was a very important victory.
With an early goal and tenacious defending, they took three points.
Of course, even though Scotland lost, they didn't play badly.
They attacked throughout the second half and showed real backbone.
For a team that's behind, keeping up the attack is no easy thing.
It's just that the goal they conceded came so early that they were on the back foot all match.
They had to spend a lot of energy chasing, and their stamina drained quickly.
Had they not conceded that goal, the result might have been completely different.
After the match, many people were talking about it.
Some said Morocco is strong and smart, and especially good at scoring first then defending.
Others said Scotland actually played well, were good in the second half, and were a bit unlucky to lose.
Actually, this is the interesting part of soccer.
Sometimes, one very early goal can decide an entire match.
For Morocco, winning the first match will give them more confidence.
They also proved once again that they're a very tough team to deal with.
For Scotland, the group stage isn't over; they still have chances.
As long as they keep up the second-half fight, they can still go for good results later.
Alright, that's the Scotland versus Morocco match.
Morocco won a narrow one to zero, thanks to a lightning goal at the start.
They say it's also one of the fastest goals of this World Cup.
This was a match people will remember for its opening.
Thank you for listening; see you next time.
