Alright, the game began.

Argentina has a player named Messi.

Messi is very famous and plays very well.

But today, Spain watched Messi very closely.

Messi didn't get many chances.

Spain kept wanting to score.

They shot many times.

But the ball just wouldn't go in.

Argentina has a goalkeeper.

He was amazing today.

The goalkeeper blocked the ball again and again.

First half, zero to zero.

Second half, still zero to zero.

Neither team scored.

Then, Argentina went down to fewer players.

Because a player committed a foul and was sent off.

Now Argentina had only ten players.

Ninety minutes were up, still zero to zero.

The game went to extra time.

Extra time means playing a bit longer.

Spain brought on a new player named Torres.

During extra time, Torres scored a goal.

One to zero, Spain took the lead.

This goal was so important.

Later, the game ended.

Spain won, one to zero.

Spain took the title.

They are number one in the world.

This is Spain's second time winning the title.

Everyone was very happy.

Argentina lost, and were very sad.

Messi was very sad too.

Argentina played very well too, just came up a little short.

Today, Spain beat Argentina.

Spain are the world champions.
