Today let's talk about a World Cup knockout game Switzerland played very cleverly: Switzerland beat Algeria two to zero to march steadily into the last 16.

This was a win built on discipline and tactics.

First, a word on Switzerland.

Switzerland's greatest strength isn't how many big-name stars they have, but the whole team's discipline and cohesion.

Their head coach Yakin is a tactical master, especially skilled at laying traps for opponents.

Today against Algeria, he put on another tactical masterclass.

Alright, into the game.

Switzerland's start was near-perfect.

In the tenth minute, young Manzambi carried the ball down the left, delivered a pinpoint cross, and Embolo attacked it in front of goal and easily tucked it into the net — one to zero.

Taking an early lead suited Switzerland perfectly.

As the second half began, Switzerland scored again.

Ndoye seized a chance from outside the box, hit a low shot along the ground, and the ball darted into the net — two to zero.

A two-goal lead put Switzerland fully in control.

A trailing Algeria had to push forward, but that played right into Switzerland's hands.

Out of possession, Switzerland set up a five-man midfield, sealing off the central space and making it very hard for Algeria to create anything threatening.

After attempt upon attempt, Algeria could never truly tear open Switzerland's defense.

The more anxiously they pushed forward, the bigger the gaps left behind them, making them all the more wary of Switzerland's counter.

And so, Switzerland, advancing by retreating, firmly controlled the flow of the game.

In the end, Switzerland cleanly kept a clean sheet and took the game.

Here, there's a historical significance especially worth mentioning.

Actually, Switzerland had waited a very, very long time for a World Cup knockout win like this — the span is astonishingly long.

So this win, for Switzerland, is a hugely significant breakthrough.

So, how should this game be judged?

For Switzerland, this is a textbook win.

They didn't blindly trade blows with the opponent; instead, through discipline, tactics, and efficient finishing, they took the game steadily.

This maturity and composure is exactly what lets a team go far in the knockouts.

For Algeria, this defeat, though a pity, was also a matter of being outmaneuvered.

They ran into an opponent who was better prepared and more decisive in execution.

That's Switzerland two to zero Algeria, a win belonging to discipline and intelligence.

See you next match.
