The entire fourteen-minute performance, rather than being a commercial show, was more like a grand love letter written to his hometown of Puerto Rico, full of pride for his home and the entire Americas.

Even the audience could see big stars like Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, and Jessica Alba casually dancing on the porch of that traditional Puerto Rican style cottage, and this atmosphere was truly unique.

Although this was an all-Spanish carnival, Bad Bunny still chose to say one phrase in English, "God bless America," and at the end held up a football with "Together, We Are America" written on it, which was clearly issuing an appeal for unity to the US.

The lineup of guests was also quite luxurious, with Lady Gaga bringing a Latin-inspired adaptation of "Die With A Smile," while Ricky Martin sang a song warning Puerto Ricans not to let their culture be erased.

However, this performance also caused quite a stir outside the venue; although former President Trump did not attend, he fiercely attacked the performance on social media, calling it the "worst ever" and complaining that no one could understand what he was singing.

In fact, just before the Super Bowl, Trump supporters even organized an alternative event called the "All-American Halftime Show," headlined by Trump-supporting singer Kid Rock, which is enough to show how deep the cultural and political rifts are.

Although Bad Bunny did not directly and publicly criticize the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) this time like he did at the Grammy Awards last week, he still conveyed strong political metaphors through stage details.

For example, during the performance, he climbed an electricity pylon while rapping, which was actually paying tribute to the victims of Hurricane Maria in 2017, and simultaneously metaphorizing the infrastructure destroyed by the storm at that time.

He also wore a beige sweater printed with the number 64, which is believed to imply that the federal government's disaster relief efforts for Puerto Rico at the time were far inferior to those for hurricane disasters on the US mainland.

This implicit way of expression formed a sharp contrast with his shouting of "ICE out" at the Grammys, and also showed his strategic adjustments on different stages.

Looking back at the whole performance, from overcoming early sound issues to confidently shuttling through every corner of the stage, Bad Bunny ignited the whole venue with hit songs like "Tití Me Preguntó" and "MONACO."

At the end of the show, when the Puerto Rican flag flew side-by-side with the US flag, and the slogan "The only thing more powerful than hate is love" flashed on the background screen, this was undoubtedly a highlight moment for Latin culture on the sporting world's biggest stage.
