上海的这场 AI 盛会：机器人、开源，与一场刚刚开始的全球竞赛

这个大会，简称 WAIC，是目前全球规模最大、分量最重的人工智能盛会之一。

This conference, known as WAIC, is currently one of the largest and most significant AI gatherings in the world.

而今年这一届，几乎在所有维度上，都刷新了纪录。

And this year's edition broke records on almost every dimension.

A good portion are built for real-world settings — guiding guests, delivering items, and answering questions in hotels, malls, and showrooms.

现场还能看到能够自主驾驶的汽车、能辅助医生读片的系统，以及在工厂里挥舞不停的机械臂。

You could also see self-driving cars, systems that help doctors read medical images, and robotic arms swinging tirelessly on factory floors.

而这，恰恰指向了今年大会最深层的一个转变。

And this points precisely to the deepest shift at this year's conference.

过去几年，这个行业比拼的，是谁家的大模型参数更大、更聪明，是一场围绕"技术单点突破"的军备竞赛。

In past years, this industry competed over whose model had more parameters and was smarter — an arms race centered on single-point technological breakthroughs.

可到了今年，风向明显变了。

But this year, the wind has clearly shifted.

大家不再只盯着模型本身，而是更关心一件事：AI 究竟能不能真正落地，能不能帮企业赚到钱、帮产业提升效率、帮普通人改善生活。

People are no longer fixated on the models themselves, but care more about one thing: whether AI can truly be put into practice — whether it can help companies make money, boost industry efficiency, and improve ordinary people's lives.

说白了，就是从"炫模型"，转向了"拼应用"，从实验室，走向了真实的世界。

Put bluntly, it's a shift from "showing off models" to "competing on applications" — from the lab out into the real world.

如果说技术是这场大会的骨架，那么它所承载的政治与全球意义，就是它的另一重看点。

If technology is the skeleton of this conference, then the political and global significance it carries is its other major highlight.

今年，中国领导人习近平，出席开幕式并发表了讲话。

This year, Chinese leader Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

他将人工智能，定义为这个时代一次难得的历史性机遇。

He defined artificial intelligence as a rare, historic opportunity of our era.

他呼吁世界各国，携手抓住这轮机遇，加强合作，而不是彼此设限、各自为战。

He called on all nations to seize this opportunity together and deepen cooperation, rather than setting limits on one another and each fighting its own battle.

在讲话中，他尤其强调了"开源"这一理念。

In his speech, he placed particular emphasis on the idea of "open source."

所谓开源，就是把核心技术公开出来，让全世界都能免费使用、共同改进，而非被少数巨头牢牢攥在手里。

Open source means making core technology public, so the whole world can use it for free and improve it together — rather than it being tightly held by a handful of giants.

他表示，中国愿意向广大发展中国家伸出援手，帮助它们建立自己的 AI 能力，不让任何一个国家，在这轮技术浪潮中掉队。

His intent is not hard to read: China is trying to play the role of a "leader" in the global AI landscape.

And behind this, of course, lies the unspoken tug-of-war between China and the United States.

这些年，中美两国在 AI 赛道上你追我赶，从芯片到模型，几乎寸土必争。

In recent years, China and the US have chased each other down the AI track, contesting nearly every inch, from chips to models.

除了习近平，出席本届大会的分量级人物还有不少，就连联合国秘书长，也亲临了现场。

Besides Xi Jinping, many other heavyweight figures attended this year's conference — even the UN Secretary-General showed up in person.

这本身就说明，人工智能，早已超越了单纯的技术范畴。
