Today, let's break down a stirring, almost unbelievable World Cup knockout game: defending champions Argentina, in the desperate straits of being two goals down and having Messi miss a penalty,

clawed back three goals in the final dozen minutes to beat Egypt three to two in a stunning turnaround and scrape into the last eight.

This was not just a great win, but a legend belonging to Messi, and to a "champion's heart."

First, let's look at the two teams.

Argentina are the defending champions from the last World Cup, with the greatest living legend of the game, Messi.

Their opponents Egypt are not to be underestimated either, for they too have a world-famous star — Salah.

This was meant to be a star-studded clash of two strong sides.

Before the game, almost everyone thought an Argentina blessed with Messi would hold the upper hand.

Yet the one thing the soccer world never lacks is the unexpected.

Alright, let's follow the thread of the game.

The game had reached only the fifteenth minute when the surprise struck.

Egypt seized an attacking chance, and Ibrahim rose high to beat Argentina's keeper with a lovely header — zero to one, a shock lead.

And an even more dramatic moment came in the first half: Argentina won a golden chance to equalize — a penalty.

Yet Messi, stepping up to the spot, had his shot heroically saved by Egypt keeper Shobeir.

The missed penalty seemed to cast a shadow over Argentina.

In the second half, the nightmare continued.

In the sixty-seventh minute, Egypt pressed on and scored their second, stretching it to zero to two.

At this point, the two-goal-down champions who had also wasted a penalty were pushed to the edge of the cliff, and the Argentina fans in the stands fell into dead silence.

Everyone assumed a huge upset was about to be born.

Yet true kings never accept their fate.

From the seventy-ninth minute, Argentina launched an earth-shattering, history-making fightback from the brink.

First, veteran Romero, receiving a pass from Messi, rose high to head it in and pull the score to one to two, lighting hope for his team.

Just four minutes later, the man the whole stadium was waiting for finally stood up.

In the eighty-third minute, Messi took it upon himself, coolly scoring to haul the score level at two to two!

Worth remembering: this goal was Messi's twenty-first at a World Cup, once again breaking the unprecedented record he holds himself.

And just as everyone assumed the game would go to extra time, the final fatal blow arrived.

In stoppage time, Enzo Fernández seized his chance to score the third goal of the game — three to two!

Three goals in the space of a dozen minutes, a stunning turnaround complete.

Argentina, in an almost unbelievable way, dragged themselves from the brink of elimination back onto the track of victory.

So, how exactly should this game be judged?

For Argentina, this is a great win that was scary in hindsight yet fit for the history books.

They proved to the world once again what a "champion's heart" means.

No matter how far behind, no matter what setbacks they face, as long as the final whistle hasn't blown, they always believe they can win.

And Messi is without doubt the very pillar of that belief, carrying the whole team with a goal and a record.

Of course, a start this poor is also a loud wake-up call: against stronger opponents ahead, Argentina must play more solidly and with more focus, or they won't always have luck like today's.

And for Egypt, this defeat is heartbreakingly cruel.

They did almost everything right: they scored first, they saved Messi's penalty, they held a huge two-goal lead at one point... and yet,

in the end they couldn't withstand the champions' overwhelming final blow, watching helplessly as the victory in their grasp

slipped through their fingers.

Soccer is this cruel.

But the quality and courage Egypt and Salah showed equally deserve everyone's applause.

That's Argentina three to two Egypt, a game belonging to Messi, and to a never-give-up champion's will.

See you next match.
