最近，澳大利亚有一个新闻。Recently in Australia, there's a news story.
新闻说：海边来了一条非常大的鱼。The news says: a very big fish has arrived at the beach.
这条鱼有八米长。This fish is eight meters long.
也有二十五吨重。It also weighs twenty-five tons.

这条大鱼叫鲸鱼。This big fish is called a whale.

其实它不是鱼，是动物。Actually it's not a fish — it's a mammal.
但是它一直住在海里。But it has always lived in the sea.
所以大家都叫它大鱼。So everyone calls it a big fish.
这次的鲸鱼，叫"抹香鲸"。This whale is called a "sperm whale."
抹香鲸是鲸鱼里很大的一种。A sperm whale is one of the biggest kinds of whale.
这条抹香鲸是怎么来的？How did this sperm whale get here?
它在海里死了。It died in the ocean.
死了以后，海水把它送到了海边。After it died, seawater carried it to the shore.
现在它躺在海边的石头上。Now it's lying on rocks by the beach.
这个海边的名字是埃拉海滩。The name of this beach is Era Beach.
埃拉海滩在悉尼的南边。Era Beach is south of Sydney.
悉尼是澳大利亚一个很大的城市。Sydney is a big city in Australia.
埃拉海滩附近有一个公园。Near Era Beach there's a park.
这个公园叫"皇家国家公园"。This park is called "Royal National Park."
平时，很多人喜欢去那里玩。Normally, lots of people love going there.
有人去游泳，有人去散步，有人去看海。Some go swimming, some go for walks, some go to look at the sea.
可是现在，那里关了。But right now, it's closed.
不只是一个海滩关了。Not just one beach is closed.
是四个海滩都关了。All four beaches are closed.
四个海滩的名字是：The four beaches are called:
埃拉，加里，瓦塔莫拉，还有伯宁帕姆斯。Era, Garie, Wattamolla, and Burning Palms.
都很好听。They all sound nice.
但是现在，都不能去。But right now, none of them can be visited.
为什么都关了？Why are they all closed?
因为那条死鲸鱼。Because of the dead whale.
死鲸鱼带来了两个问题。The dead whale has caused two problems.
第一个问题是：鲨鱼来了。The first problem: sharks have come.
鲨鱼是海里的一种鱼。Sharks are a kind of fish in the sea.
鲨鱼有很多牙。Sharks have a lot of teeth.
鲨鱼很饿。Sharks are very hungry.
死鲸鱼有很多肉。The dead whale has a lot of meat.
所以鲨鱼闻到味道，就都来了。So when sharks smell it, they all come.
鲨鱼游过来，吃这条鲸鱼。The sharks swim over and eat this whale.
来的鲨鱼也不少。Quite a few sharks have come.
有大白鲨。There are great white sharks.
还有公牛鲨。There are also bull sharks.
人不能下水。People can't go in the water.
下水会有危险。Going in the water would be dangerous.
鲨鱼会咬人。Sharks bite people.
所以大家说：不要下水。So everyone says: don't go in the water.
就在岸上看一看。Just stand on the shore and watch.
第二个问题是：鲸鱼会臭。The second problem: the whale will stink.
死了的动物会臭。Dead animals stink.
鲸鱼太大，所以它特别臭。The whale is huge, so it stinks especially badly.
里面还会有很多气。Inside it, there will also be a lot of gas.
看不见，但是闻得到。You can't see it, but you can smell it.
气越来越多。There's more and more gas.
鲸鱼的肚子越来越大。The whale's belly gets bigger and bigger.
