Today we're talking about a very important World Cup semi-final: Spain beat France two to zero.

Winning this game means reaching the final, to fight for the World Cup title.

First, a word on France.

France are title favorites, with many outstanding attacking players, like Mbappé.

Mbappé is one of the top scorers at this World Cup.

Now a word on Spain.

Spain are young and very capable.

They like to pass the ball, and their defense is excellent too.

Alright, let's look at the game.

In this game, Spain's defense was the biggest highlight.

They marked France's stars, especially Mbappé, extremely tightly, giving them no chance.

In the twenty-second minute, Spain won a penalty.

Oyarzabal calmly put the penalty away — one to zero.

Spain led.

In the second half, in the fifty-eighth minute, Porro scored another — two to zero.

A two-goal lead put Spain firmly in control.

France kept wanting to score, but Spain defended just too well.

No matter how France attacked, the Spain players got in front and cleared the ball again and again.

In the end, France couldn't score a single goal, and Mbappé was shut down today with no goal.

Spain won the game cleanly, two to zero, and reached the final!

So, how should we view this game?

For Spain, this is a remarkable win.

Against such a strong France, they could both score and hold firm — so mature.

This is also Spain's first World Cup final in many years.

The last time they reached a final, they even won the title.

For France, losing is truly such a shame.

They have many stars, yet were completely contained by Spain.

That's Spain two to zero France, a win belonging to Spain, and to defense.

See you next match.
