不管是……还是……，都……
Reach for this when you want to say the outcome holds NO MATTER which of two options is true — 'whether X or Y, the result is the same.' 不管是...还是... lays out two alternatives; 都 in the second clause says the result applies to both equally. It's how Chinese expresses 'either way,' 'regardless,' and 'no matter who/what/when.' Common in declarations of policy, preference, and rules that don't bend.

How to Think About It
不管 sets up irrelevance; 都 enforces it. The two options after 不管是...还是... should be genuinely different, even opposed — listing two similar things is wasteful. The 都 in the final clause is mandatory: it's what tells the listener that the result is uniform across all options. Drop 都 and the sentence loses its 'regardless' force.

Common Mistake
Learners forget the 都 in the result clause, making the sentence sound like a simple conditional rather than 'either way.' 都 is what carries the 'regardless of which' meaning home.

Don't Confuse With
无论...都...
Same meaning, slightly more formal. 无论 reads stiffer; 不管 is more conversational.
是...还是...?
Without 不管, 是...还是... is a choice question ('A or B?'). 不管 turns it into 'whichever it is.'
不管...只要...都...
Different logic — 只要 sets a sufficient condition. 不管是...还是 specifically lists the alternatives that don't matter.
