蒋方舟、贾浅浅接连"塌房"：两位才女，为什么被撤销学位？

最近几天，他们都上了新闻，因为一件不太好的事。

In the past few days, they've both been in the news, over something not so flattering.

他们两个人，一个叫蒋方舟，一个叫贾浅浅。

The two of them: one is called Jiang Fangzhou, one is called Jia Qianqian.

第一个，是蒋方舟。

First, Jiang Fangzhou.

她小时候，是有名的"天才少女"。

As a child, she was a famous "genius girl."

她七岁就开始写东西，九岁就出了一本书。

She started writing at seven and published a book at nine.

后来，她还上了很好的大学。

Later, she got into a very good university, too.

不过，当时她能上那么好的大学，本身就有一点争议。

Still, her getting into such a good school back then was itself a bit controversial.

第二个，是贾浅浅。

Second, Jia Qianqian.

她的爸爸，叫贾平凹，是中国非常有名的一位老作家。

Her father is Jia Pingwa, a very famous senior writer in China.

贾浅浅自己，也在一所大学当老师，是一位副教授。

Jia Qianqian herself is a teacher at a university, an associate professor.

可以说，他们两个人，都很有背景，也都很有名。

You could say both women have strong backing, and both are famous.

那么，最近到底发生了什么呢？

So what exactly happened recently?

简单说，就是他们的论文，都被发现有问题。

Simply put, their academic papers were both found to have problems.

他们的论文，抄了别人的东西。

Their papers copied other people's work.

这种事，我们叫"学术抄袭"。

This kind of thing, we call "academic plagiarism."

在大学里，抄袭是一件很严重的事。

At a university, plagiarism is a very serious matter.

其实，早在去年，就有一个人，公开说蒋方舟的论文有问题。

Actually, as early as last year, someone publicly said Jiang Fangzhou's thesis had problems.

一开始，学校说：没有发现问题。

At first, the school said: no problem found.

可是后来，又有了新的东西。

But later, new things came to light.

学校认真看了蒋方舟的硕士论文。

The school carefully examined Jiang Fangzhou's master's thesis.

发现里面有很多地方，和外国的一篇论文差不多一样，但是她没有说明。

It found many parts nearly identical to a foreign paper, but she hadn't noted it.

最后，学校才认定：她真的抄袭了。

In the end, the school ruled: she really did plagiarize.

贾浅浅那边也差不多，她的很多论文，都有抄袭的问题。

Jia Qianqian's case was similar — many of her papers had plagiarism issues.

而且，贾浅浅以前，也有过别的争议。

What's more, Jia Qianqian had been controversial before.

几年前，她写的一些东西，被很多人笑话。

A few years ago, some of her writing was mocked by many people.

也有人说，她能当上作家，靠的就是她有名的爸爸。

Some also said she became a writer thanks to her famous father.

所以，两所大学，先后做出了处理。

So the two universities took action, one after the other.

七月十三号，一所大学，撤销了蒋方舟的硕士学位。

On July 13, one university revoked Jiang Fangzhou's master's degree.

七月十五号，另一所大学，撤销了贾浅浅的学位，还有她副教授的职称。

On July 15, another university revoked Jia Qianqian's degree, plus her associate-professor title.

"撤销"的意思是：以前给你的，现在不算了，要收回去。

"Revoke" means: what was once given to you no longer counts and is taken back.

蒋方舟后来在网上，公开道了歉。

Jiang Fangzhou later apologized publicly online.

她说，她接受学校的处理，也向大家说对不起。

She said she accepts the school's handling, and said sorry to everyone.

这两件事，就差了两天，所以大家一起讨论了起来。

The two events were just two days apart, so people discussed them together.

很多人说：这是一件好事。

Many said: this is a good thing.

因为不管你是天才，还是有一个有名的爸爸，只要抄袭，就要被处理。

Because whether you're a genius or have a famous father, if you plagiarize, you'll be dealt with.
