Every answer explained, not just marked

The official trial and most mock-test sites mark right or wrong and stop there. Here, every question shows:

  • The transcript, with the words the answer comes from highlighted.
  • Why the right answer is right, and how what you heard became the option.
  • Why each wrong option is wrong: not said, said about someone else, or the opposite.
  • Pinyin and English for every line, question and option.
  • A replay button for that question, and its key words to save.

What the new HSK 1 listening looks like

The HSK 3.0 listening paper for HSK 1 has 20 questions in four parts and takes about 13 minutes. Every recording plays twice, every question has three options, and each part opens with a worked example. The printed paper shows pinyin above every word, and so do our tests.

Questions 1–5
A short phrase, then pick the matching photo from three
Questions 6–10
A short question, then pick the right reply from three
Questions 11–15
Two-line dialogue, then pick the matching picture from a set of six
Questions 16–20
One sentence and a question, then pick the answer from three

The pictures are the clue. In the photo part you hear 坐火车 and pick the train, and in the dialogue part the picture often shows something the speakers never name: you hear 你怎么还不睡觉?我在学汉语呢 and pick the man studying at night. Our review screen shows the words that point to each answer.

How these tests are made

  • Each paper follows the official HSK 3.0 sample paper: the same four parts and question counts, every recording played twice with the same pauses, and a worked example before each part.
  • Every item uses the official HSK 3.0 word list for level 1, the 300 words. A second AI model has to answer each question from the recording and agree with our key, and a vision model checks every picture against its question.
  • The items are written and voiced with AI, then checked and heard in full by a native Chinese speaker before we publish them.

These are practice papers, not official papers. Scores are estimates. Fluentide is not affiliated with CTI (Chinese Testing International), which runs the HSK.
