把……转向……
Reach for this written-register phrase when you want to redirect attention or focus — 'turn X toward Y.' The 把 marks the thing being redirected (gaze, attention, focus, conversation), and 转向 names the new target. Common in essays, lectures, and broadcast scripts where the speaker is steering the audience: 'Let us turn our eyes to the supporting cast.' Speech tends to use 看 or 说 instead; 把……转向…… belongs in deliberate, structured writing.

How to Think About It
把 grabs the object — usually something abstract like 目光, 注意力, 话题, 焦点 — and hands it to 转向, which then rotates it toward the new destination. Both halves are required: 把 marks WHAT is being moved, 转向 names WHERE it is going. Drop 转向 and the 把 phrase hangs; drop 把 and the object loses its 'being acted on' status.

Common Mistake
Learners place a physical object after 把 (like 椅子) because the textbook 把 examples use physical things. With 转向, the object should be abstract — attention, gaze, direction of discussion — not a physical item to be picked up.

The general 把 construction (把杯子打破了) deals with concrete actions on objects. 把……转向…… is a fixed rhetorical move for redirecting focus.

转向 (alone, no 把)
Without 把, 转向 is a plain intransitive verb meaning 'to pivot toward' (公司转向新能源). The 把 version explicitly names what is being pivoted.
