群 is written with 13 strokes. The animation replays automatically.
群 (qún) is primarily a measure word meaning 'group,' 'crowd,' 'flock,' or 'herd' — it counts collections of people, animals, or things that cluster together: 一群人 (a crowd of people), 一群羊 (a flock of sheep), 一群鸟 (a flock of birds).
It also works as a noun and a bound morpheme in words like 人群 (crowd) and 群众 (the masses). In modern life its most-used sense is a chat group: 微信群 (WeChat group), 加群 (join a group), 群聊 (group chat).
Unlike English, where 'group,' 'flock,' 'herd,' and 'crowd' are separate words, Chinese uses the single measure word 群 for all of them, letting the noun that follows specify what kind. It always implies more than one, gathered together — you cannot use 群 for a single item.
Note: Neutral everywhere. As a noun for online chat groups (微信群) it is thoroughly colloquial and modern.
广场上有一群人在跳舞。
Guǎngchǎng shàng yǒu yī qún rén zài tiàowǔ.
There's a crowd of people dancing in the square.

帮 as a measure word ('一帮人') implies a gang or clique with a slightly informal, sometimes negative edge. 群 is neutral and works for any gathering, including animals.
组 means an organized 'group / team' with defined membership (小组 study group). 群 is a loose cluster that just happens to be together; 组 is deliberately formed.
裙 (with the 衣 cloth radical) means 'skirt,' as in 裙子. Same sound, different character; 群 is 'crowd / group.'
众 means 'many / the multitude' and is more literary, appearing in compounds (观众 audience). 群 is a countable cluster you can put a number in front of: 一群.
