就是...一样 (jiùshì...yíyàng) — 'just like...'
Reach for 就像...一样 when you want to draw an analogy — 'just like X.' The pattern wraps around the thing you're comparing to, signaling 'exactly the same as' or 'the same way as.' Common when teachers explain concepts ('learning Chinese is just like building a house'), when writers paint vivid descriptions ('the lake was smooth, just like a mirror'), and in everyday speech to make a point through comparison. Stronger and more vivid than plain 像.

How to Think About It
就像 opens the comparison ('just like'), 一样 closes it ('the same'). Think of them as a pair of bookends — they hold the comparison between them. 就 adds the 'exactly / precisely' flavor, sharpening the analogy beyond plain 像. The result is a tight, vivid simile: 'A is exactly like B.' If you drop 一样, the comparison feels loose; with 一样, it feels deliberate.
Examples

Time is like flowing water — once it's gone, it won't come back.
Common Mistake
Learners write 就是...一样 (with 是) instead of 就像...一样 because English says 'is just like.' The verb here is 像 (resemble), not 是 (be). 就是...一样 is a different construction (emphasis) and won't make the analogy work.
他就是他爸爸一样。
他就像他爸爸一样。
Don't Confuse With
像...
Plain 像 makes a looser comparison ('resembles'). 就像...一样 tightens it into a deliberate analogy ('exactly like'). Use 就像...一样 when you want the reader/listener to feel the comparison clearly.
好像...
好像 hedges — 'seems like.' Adds uncertainty. 就像...一样 makes a confident, vivid claim; 好像 makes a tentative observation.
跟... 一样
跟...一样 says 'the same as X' — claims equivalence in a specific aspect ('the same age,' 'the same color'). 就像...一样 makes an analogy or simile, not a claim of literal sameness.
