Common mix-ups
比 vs 更
bǐ vs gèng
比 names the standard of comparison. 更 raises the degree from an already understood baseline.
他比我高 = he is taller than me; 他更高 = he is even taller.
Tā bǐ wǒ gāo; tā gèng gāo
一样 vs 像
yíyàng vs xiàng
一样 says the degree or quality matches. 像 says one thing resembles another.
一样贵 = equally expensive; 像老师 = like a teacher.
