不管……只要……
Reach for this when you want to sweep away one variable but anchor on another — 'no matter who/what/where, AS LONG AS Y, then Z.' 不管 throws out a list of irrelevant conditions; 只要 picks the one condition that actually matters. It's the structure for setting clear, minimal requirements: 'I don't care about anything else — meet this one bar and the result is guaranteed.' Common in advice, encouragement, and rule-setting.

不管 [IRRELEVANT VARIABLE], 只要 [KEY CONDITION], [SUBJECT] 就 [RESULT]

How to Think About It
不管 erases a dimension ('forget about who you are'); 只要 narrows the rule to one specific gate ('all that matters is X'). The 就 in the result clause is the payoff: minimal condition met, outcome guaranteed. Without the 就, the sentence loses its 'all you need' feel.

不管你是男生还是女生，只要努力，就能成功。

Common Mistake
Learners follow 不管 with a single fixed thing instead of a range of options. 不管 needs a variable — a question word (谁, 什么, 哪里) or an 'A or B' contrast — to work. Pairing it with a fixed noun sounds ungrammatical.

Don't Confuse With
只要……就……
Just the 'as long as / then' half. Use it when there's no variable to dismiss. Add 不管 in front when you want to explicitly wave off other factors first.
无论……都……
Pure sweep ('no matter X, Y holds across the board'). 不管……只要…… narrows down to one critical condition after sweeping; 无论 doesn't have that anchor.
如果……就……
如果 sets a conditional; the result is one possible scenario. 只要……就…… insists the result is guaranteed whenever the condition is met — a stronger, more confident claim.
