What does 当个事儿办 mean?
当个事儿办 (dàng ge shìr bàn) means actually take it seriously in everyday Chinese slang. To treat something as if it genuinely matters and actually deal with it, instead of letting it drift. Literally, it means "treat it as a thing and do it".

Where 当个事儿办 comes from
A northern colloquial phrase (note the 儿 suffix) that spread as sincere advice-giving language, a counterweight to the 摆烂 and 躺平 mood.
Related slang
Deliberately letting things go to ruin — when a situation is already hopeless, you stop trying entirely. More nihilistic than 躺平.
