Reach for this when you want to point at the exact spot where the heart of an argument or story sits. It's '[X] 就是 [Y] 的地方 / 时刻' — 'X is precisely the place / moment that Y.' The 就是 supplies the rhetorical 'precisely / nothing other than,' and 的地方 or 的时刻 turns the whole Y-clause into a noun phrase. Common in commentary when you want to highlight the most telling detail.

How to Think About It
Chinese builds noun phrases by sticking 的 onto a whole clause: '[他说的] 话' = 'the words [that he said].' This pattern uses the same trick on 地方 ('place / aspect') or 时刻 ('moment'). The 就是 is the spotlight: it says 'right here, nowhere else.' Combined, you get 'X is exactly the aspect / moment where Y happens.' 地方 is often metaphorical here — not a physical place but an aspect or angle.

Common Mistake
Learners use 地方 only for physical locations and pick the wrong noun ('部分,' '问题') when the abstract sense is needed. 地方 in this pattern means 'the aspect / the point' — not a room or street. Treat it like English 'where' as in 'that's where I disagree.'

Don't Confuse With

X 是 Y 的原因 names a cause. X 就是...的地方 names the angle or spot where something is most visible — not why it happened.
