X 是这样 / 这是真的 / 这是常态
The editorial close. Reach for this when you've made an argument and want to seal it with a one-line verdict — 'X works like this,' 'this is real,' 'this is the new normal.' It's a punchy definitional tag, common at the end of opinion paragraphs and analytical podcasts. The structure is bare: subject plus 是 plus a defining label, no examples, no qualifiers. Its power is its bluntness; saying nothing more is the point. Often used in lists of three for rhythm: 'A 是这样，B 是这样，C 也是这样。'

How to Think About It
These closers strip the sentence to its skeleton. 是这样 = 'works like that, I just showed you'; 这是真的 = 'this is real, full stop'; 这是常态 = 'this is the baseline, get used to it.' What makes them land is the absence of hedging — no 大概, no 也许, no 应该. The flatness is the persuasion. If you add softeners, the structure collapses into ordinary prose.

Common Mistake
Learners over-qualify with 我觉得 or 可能 because they want to sound polite. These closers are deliberately declarative; adding hedges turns a verdict into an opinion and kills the force.

Don't Confuse With
这就是 [X]
'This is exactly X' — labels something concrete, not a closing verdict on an argument. Use 这就是 to identify ('这就是答案'); use 是这样 / 这是常态 to seal an analytical point.
总之，...
'In short, ...' — introduces a summary, doesn't ARE the summary. Use 总之 before delivering the verdict; this pattern IS the verdict, standing alone.
X 就是 X
Tautological 'X is just X' — used to brush something off ('就这样吧' = 'just leave it'). Different register; this pattern declares, that pattern dismisses.
