对 X 来说
Reach for this when you want to frame an opinion or fact from someone's specific perspective — 'for X / from X's point of view.' 对我来说, 学中文很难. (For me, learning Chinese is hard.) It signals 'this is true for this particular party — may not be universal.' Common in opinions, comparisons, and arguments where you need to acknowledge that different people see things differently.

How to Think About It
对 X 来说 lives at the START of the sentence, like an opening parenthesis: '(speaking from X's vantage point)...'. It's a topicalizer, not a postscript. Native speakers rarely jam it in the middle of a clause. The 来说 part is fixed — you can't drop it and just say '对我' (that would mean 'toward me / facing me'). The full 'duì X láishuō' is the perspective frame.

Common Mistake
Learners drop 来说 because 对 X alone seems enough. But 对 X without 来说 changes the meaning to 'toward X / aimed at X' (a directional preposition). For the perspective meaning, you need the full pair.
对我, 这个问题很简单。

Don't Confuse With
在...看来
在 X 看来 = X's OPINION. 对 X 来说 = the IMPACT on X. Use 看来 when you mean 'X thinks'; use 来说 when you mean 'this affects X.'
对于...
对于 X = 'regarding X' — names the topic but doesn't frame impact on X. 对 X 来说 specifically zooms in on what the topic MEANS for X.
对...而言
对 X 而言 = same meaning as 对 X 来说, more literary. Use 对...来说 in speech; switch to 对...而言 in formal writing or essays.
对 + Person + Verb
Plain 对 introduces the target of an action ('he is good to me' = 他对我很好). 对……来说 introduces a viewpoint, not an action target.
关于...
关于 means 'about / regarding' the topic. 对……来说 means 'from someone's perspective.' Topic vs. viewpoint.
